Your Sales Wish List

Today we are going to have a little fun. I’ve talked about here about using a Top Ten List and the value it can bring you and your sales. Again, in my estimation it can be the single most important piece of data you own.

But, today we are going to do something a little different.

Write the numbers 1-10 on a piece of paper. Go ahead, I’ll wait. Now, at the top of the page write today’s date.

Now, close your eyes and dream a second. If there were no objections at all—who would you sell? Who would you LOVE to have as a customer? Is it the largest customer in your field? Is it one you’ve tried for years to sell?

How about your competitor’s largest customer?

List them all and title it MY WISH LIST.

Again, nothing or nobody is off limits. Dream BIG!

Got your list? OK. Now, at the bottom of the page write the following:

January 1, 2014. Eighteen months from today. Here’s where it gets really fun. Read the following to yourself ALOUD.

A MINIMUM OF FIVE OF THE PROSPECTS I HAVE LISTED WILL BE CUSTOMERS OF MINE BY JANUARY 1, 2014.

You have just written a goal and verbally backed it up. You have made the decision to make it happen.

But, the ultimate question is this: what is keeping you from selling each one of those people on your Wish List?

Whatever it is, you have 18 months to overcome it. Start now.

And, as we ring in 2014, I want to hear about your success!
