“Your life does not get better by chance, it gets better by change.”
I love that quote. Think about it for a second: there is no magic formula or lucky “chance” of life getting better, it gets better when you decide to change. It also reminds me of the quote by Mark Twain, “Don’t go around saying the world owes you a living. The world owes you nothing. It was here first.”
So, if our life gets better by change–it’s obvious the world isn’t going to change just for us, so we’re going to have to change if we want a better life, a brighter tomorrow and a more productive future.
But, change evokes so many negative emotions with people. They seem to automatically assume change is bad. Change is not bad. Change is change. If you don’t like where you are–you can change. That’s not bad, that’s good!
What can you change? What new, positive habit can you develop?
Or better yet, what bad, negative habit can you stop? Either way it leads to change and as we’ve discussed, that’s truly the only way life gets better.
Wherever you are in life, it can get better. You just have to be willing to do what it takes to change and the first thing is to not be afraid OF change.
Stop seeing change as negative. Stop seeing change as moving backward. Start looking at it as a positive step forward–toward the life you want and deserve.
You’ll learn to not only embrace change but seek it out and instigate it.
Then and only then will life truly get better.
