My MUST Follow List For Twitter

I’m a Twitter nut. Though I don’t get to spend as much time on it as I would like, I do have certain people I LOVE to follow; they keep me inspired, motivate me and always provide great material for my business or continuing education.

At the risk of leaving someone out (which I guarantee you I will do), here is a list of 20 people I actually seek out and read their timeline on Twitter. I’ve broken it into: Leadership (which to me includes motivation and inspiration), Sales and Speakers/Authors.

These people can certainly enhance your own Twitter experience.

Steve Keating (@LeadToday): Half a million followers can’t be wrong. Lots of great quotes, links and great leadership material.

Tom Ziglar (@TomZiglar): Proud son of Zig Ziglar and a great follow on Twitter. Not just Zig quotes, but much, much more.

Lolly Daskal (@lollydaskal): 750,000 people follow this young lady for a reason. She is a leadership genius. Founder of Lead From Within, Lolly’s twitter feed alone is worth buying a new laptop for just to follow her.

Billy Cox (@Billy_Cox and @BillyCoxLive): Where does Billy belong? Sales, Leadership, Motivation, Speaker? He’s all those things and a great addition to your twitter feed.

Snowden McFall (@snowdenmcfall): Snowden is a well-kept twitter secret. About 5,000 followers but a tremendous resource for motivational, leadership material.

Bob Burg (@BobBurg): Bob is another who could fall into multiple categories. The author of The Go Giver, Endless Referrals and more, Bob is a must follow no matter what category you place him in.

Mark Hunter (@TheSalesHunter): Mark is a best-selling author of High-Profit Selling: Win the Sale Without Compromising on PriceHigh-Profit Selling: Win The Sale Without Compromising The Price, sales trainer, speaker and pure salesman. His feed is filled with great blog links, sales tips and more to keep your sales fire burning.

Jill Konrath (@jillkonrath): Salesperson, Author, Speaker and great Twitter contributor. Audio, video, blog links, sales tips and more. Just really great stuff for every salesperson. Jill’s books include the brand new Agile Selling: Get Up to Speed Quickly in Today’s Ever-Changing Sales World Agile Selling: Get Up to Speed Quickly in Today’s Ever-Changing Sales World

Grant Cardone (@grantcardone): No nonsense, no holds barred. Grant is perhaps the world’s greatest automotive sales trainer. But, his sales techniques transfer across all bounds.

Andrea Waltz (@GoForNo): Great addition to your sales twitter list. Andrea promotes Going For No and makes it fun. Andrea is another who shares great links, articles and resources. If someone asks if you follow her don’t say ‘No’.

Jeffrey Gitomer (@gitomer): Gitomer is a legend. His book, “Jeffrey Gitomer’s Sales Bible: The Ultimate Sales Resource: Including The 10.5 Commandments of Sales SuccessThe Sales Bible” is one of my all-time favorites. Great twitter content and plenty of motivating quotes.

Robert Terson (@RobertTerson): Pure sales gold. Bob is not only a great salesperson, but a phenomenal author and coach. His feed is one every salesperson can relate to—it’s just bare bones, great sales information. Bob’s book, Selling Fearlessly: A Master Salesman’s Secrets For The One-Call-Close SalespersonSelling Fearlessly: A Master Salesman’s Secrets For The One-Call-Close Salesperson is on my Kindle right now.

Julie Hansen (@acting4sales): There are plenty of people with more followers, but Julie is pure twitter GOLD. An author, speaker and trainer—she uses her training in acting to improve sales skills. Brilliant video content, great quotes and plenty of other good stuff. She is truly a hidden gem on Twitter.

Zig Ziglar (@TheZigZiglar): Is there really anything to say here? Plenty of quotes from the man I consider the greatest salesman (and motivator) who ever lived.

Lois Creamer
(@LoisCreamer): Lois is a MUST follow if you are a speaker. She is an enormous source of information, tips and great blog posts. Her website will keep one busy for hours.

Brian Tracy (@BrianTracy): Doesn’t tweet a LOT, but has great quotes and super resources. Brian is “easy” to follow.

Chuck Gallagher (@chuckgallagher): Another two doesn’t fill up your timeline, but when Chuck tweets, it’s good stuff.

Sandy Weaver Carmen (@sandyscountry): Another tremendous resource for speakers. Sandy finds great content all over the internet. Be warned: her feed is addictive!

Andy Andrews (@andyandrews): One or two tweets a day, but all pure gold. Andy is a great writer and a fun follow.

John Maxwell (@JohnCMaxwell): Another who tweets sparingly, but they are all great. Oh, and with a million followers—somebody’s getting the word.
